Introduce

Dengue fever is caused by one of four different but related viruses. It is spread by the bite of mosquitoes, most commonly the mosquito Aedes aegypti, which is found in tropic and subtropic regions. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash that is similar to measles.

Prevention

Dengue is transmitted by several species of mosquito within the genus Aedes, principally A. aegypti. prevention is sought by reducing the habitat and the number of mosquitoes and limiting exposure to bites.besides,Clothing, mosquito repellent, and netting can help reduce exposure to mosquitoes can also be helpful.

Associated problems

Dengue can occasionally affect several other body systems,A decreased level of consciousness occurs in 0.5–6% of severe cases, which is attributable either to infection of the brain by the virus or indirectly as a result of impairment of vital organs.

How to diagnose?

The diagnosis of dengue fever is usually made when a patient exhibits the typical clinical symptoms of headache, fever, eye pain, severe muscle aches. Although Dengue fever can be difficult to diagnose ,the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a blood test to diagnose people with dengue fever, called the DENV Detect IgM Capture ELISA.What's more, Aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should only be taken under a doctor's supervision because of the possibility of worsening bleeding complications. No specific diet is necessary for patients with dengue fever. Bed rest is advised.
