electric kettle

Electric kettles are normally constructed of durable plastic or steel (with a plastic handle) and powered by mains electricity. In modern designs, once the water has reached boiling, the kettle automatically deactivates to prevent the water boiling away and damaging the heating element.

An electric kettle is the best way to boil water for home and office use. It makes hot beverages like tea fast and easy to prepare. Tea tastes much better when made with freshly boiled water, compared to water heated in a microwave. All these kettles switch off automatically when the water boils, which is a big advantage over the stove top kettles which whistle until you turn them off.

Instead of heating a cup of water in a microwave, boil it fresh with an electric kettle for a better tasting tea. All of the electric kettles sold in the English Tea Store have automatic shut-off features, unlike a stovetop kettle that will whistle until the stove is turned off.
